Getting new glasses

I'm actually getting new frames for the first time in years.

I am actually pretty stoked. They're probably some of the most kickass frames I've ever seen.

After expressing my dissatisfaction with the frames on the wall, all of which were in the newer, smaller styles, the lady helping me choose offered to check the "discontinued" box in the back for something more suitable.

I found basically the sweetest frames possible. And they just gave them to me for free (because it's not like anyone's going to buy a pair of cheap frames that look like they've been sitting in a box since 1973). So I'm pretty stoked. There will be pictures when I get them!

Well done on getting frames free. I need new glasses every couple of years and the lenses alone cost over £300. If I am choosing frames you can guarantee the one pair I actually like and which suit me are the really expensive designer ones.

Damn, those are some expensive lenses. Mine are always like 45 bucks each.

Are yours some really specialized kind of lens or something?

Well I normally get special thinner ones so they don't look like the bottoms of milk bottles, which costs more and scratch resistant coating and it all adds up.

Ah, yeah. I don't have really heavy correction. I can do pretty much anything without glasses that I could do normally, except drive or watch TV. Next year, I'll probably get my aviators mirrored, though.

I was like that when I was 17 and they've been getting progressively worse ever since. The only time I don't wear them is when I'm asleep and in the shower otherwise everything has to be four inches from my nose to see it clearly

Damn, that sucks. I've been at more or less the same prescription for about 3 or 4 years.
