My sister's kittens, while damn cute, are incredibly poorly behaved. I've been spending most of this week so far chasing them off the furniture, putting their scratching post in different places trying to get them to go to it instead of fucking up the more or less brand new couches. They're not having any of it, though. They're going to keep scratching 'em up 'til they've got no claws left.
I finished the book I was reading today. It didn't really have anything to do with wizards or anything. I don't really roll like that, but I try not to disrespect people who do because that includes a lot of people I think are pretty rad. So yeah, this is one I probably should've read a long-ass time ago. Probably among the funniest books I've ever read, too, right up there with Naked, and The Princess Bride, back in the day. Now I want to go back and read Slaughterhouse-Five again, since the first time I read it was in high school, and I'd probably appreciate it a hell of a lot more, now.
My parents called me today, which was kinda cool. They asked if I wanted anything in San Diego and I told them to check that cool-ass record shop by my parents' house for a bunch of shit I'm having trouble finding here. So that could be cool. I also said I'm always up for receiving beer glasses, flasks, shotglasses and cigarette cases (even though I've developed an allergy to tobacco), and that sorta thing. I'm surprised they put up with a drunken hack musician like me as well as they do.
Also, every time I listen to this Wolves in the Throne Room record, I like it a little better. Seriously, if you like metal at all, you should definitely give that shit a listen. "Face in the Night Time Mirror" alone was worth the 18 bucks I dropped on it.
I found out Liars are opening for Interpol when they play here in October. I'm not that big on Interpol, but Liars would slay live, I'm pretty sure. So I'll probably be there. Kinda sucks it's at the Sleazy. Most of the kids who would come out to that probably wouldn't even know what to think of Liars. Plus, tickets are going for 30 bucks apiece. Ouch.

The Old Boise Brewer's Festival is tomorrow. I might hit that up and get nice and shitfaced in the 90 degree weather. I hear Laughing Dog is bringing the Devil Dog with them, so I'll probably make a point of getting there early, if I go. Actually, because of the cost of attending this, I might skip it in favor of burning the $40 I have right now on records. I hear last year's festival was pretty lame, so I'm kinda hesitant to drop half what I have on this year's.
On top of that, next weekend is the Idaho City Field Trip. I'll almost definitely be there, even if it was moved to Boise.
